Jamaica, mon!
Entrance to Breezes
Roger and Kathy went to Breezes Runaway Bay in Jamaica for their honeymoon.
Breezes is an "all-inclusive" resort, which is the only way to go!!!!
The staff were wonderful and a lot of fun!
We're already talking about a return visit... maybe bringing the kids next time!
Kathy poses on the beach
The water was warm and crystal clear... we enjoyed swimming and snorkeling for days!
There was a wonderful reef just a hundred yards off the beach with some very colorful fish!
Now that Andrew has his dive certification, we know where he will be found!!
Kathy spotted a brown-and-yellow spotted eel -- we didn't bother him! :)
Sunset on the beach
Sunset this evening highlighted a beautiful distant thunderstorm.
The colors in the anvil cloud were stunning.

Horse and buggy ride
The resort offered lots of entertainment as part of the package.
We took advantage of the horse and buggy ride one afternoon, which included some champagne and some interesting sights!
We know where Melanie will be when she comes with us next time!!!
Beach-side dining
One of the many luxuries at this resort was the beach-side dining facilities.
For casual dining at any hour of the day (!), sitting outside and listening to the waves crash and the wind through the palm trees was paradise!
The food was very good, too... ranging from rather basic fare to exotic Caribbean dishes.
Kathy's favorite was the Jerk Chicken grilled right on the beach!!!

Elegant dining
Of course, the resort offered more elegant dining options as well.
Martino's was a five-star restaraunt offering a wide variety of very well-prepared meals.
We were stuffed to the gills by the end of this vacation!!!
Ocho Rios tour
The one time we ventured out of the resort was to take a "shopping tour" in Ocho Rios.
While it was very interesting to see, it also was a strong reminder of the poverty that afflicts the majority of Jamaican citizens.
We didn't do the "mandatory" Dunn's River Falls trip this time... maybe when we go back with the kiddos.
Nude beach???
Another option was the clothing-optional option... :)
While we didn't take advantage of that... we did think this was a funny picture.
Read the signs!
There were some really amusing signs throughout the island.
This, though, was the funniest!
