So you want to know something about me, huh?
Where shall I start?
I was born in Saint Joseph, Missouri
on January 27, 1964
We moved to Austin, Texas
when I was 4 years old,
so I consider Austin my "home town"
I had a pretty normal childhood:
all the usual stuff
Little League baseball, Cub Scouts,
Indian Guides, school functions, etc.
I even played varsity soccer in high school,
until a neck injury ended my career
I joined the school orchestra in sixth grade,
selecting the double bass
'cuz it was big and cool!
I played all through junior high and high school,
making first chair in all of the local honor orchestras;
but, I decided not to pursue music as a career.
I selected my first love instead:
space exploration!
Ever since I was just a little sprout,
I had a passion for space travel and anything related;
so, after graduating from Crockett High School in 1981,
I attended The University of Texas at Austin
receiving my Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering
in December of 1985.
I started work at the Johnson Space Center
in January of 1986, working my way up until I was selected
as a Flight Dynamics Officer
working in the Mission Control Center.
Somewhere in all of this, I found time
to get my Masters degree in Space Science
from The University of Houston - Clear Lake.
I did this for 12 years
before returning "home" to Austin!
I spent five years with the
Applied Research Laboratories,
part of The University of Texas at Austin.
I was Program Manager of the Army Battle Command Systems Integration project,
a large Army contract dealing with digitizing and modernizing the U.S. Army's
Maneuver Combat Training Centers.
However... it was time for a change!
I spent a little over a year as a Producer at
Inevitable Entertainment, Inc.,
an Austin-based developer of console video games (PlayStation2, XBox, GameCube, etc.).
I was in charge of the "Area 51" game for the PS2 and Xbox.
Given my background, it was kinda ironic. <g>
But... once again, it was time for a change, as I needed something more stable and better suited for my background.
I am currently the Program Manager for a very large Army intel program.
It's a challenging, but very rewarding, position.
I'm very happy to be back supporting our nation's soldiers and doing a small part to make the world a bit safer.
So... after all that, do you want to see my resume?
Should I add deck-building to that list? <g>
Our should I just stick with striving to be an Evil Overlord?
Well, that brings you up to the present,
as far as my education and professional life goes;
but, what about the personal?
I am lucky enough to be married
to the most wonderful
woman in the world!
Kathy is everything I've ever wanted...
She's brilliant, beautiful, fun to be with, and has a genuinely caring and giving
spirit to those she cares about.
I'm fortunate to be among that number. :)
I have been blessed
with a wonderful, talented,
and incredibly handsome son.
Andrew is my pride and joy!
He's grown into a fine young man, and I am extremely proud of him.
He recently moved back to Austin and is living with us now, so I'm even more blessed than ever!

And now... I also have the joy of having
a beautiful, loving, and exceptional daughter!
Melanie is my "Princess",
and I'm proud to be her step-father.
There are
a few simple rules,
however, that future dates must follow.
